Preventive Maintenance Recommended schedule

Scheduled, preventive or normal maintenance...whatever you call it, we do it.  Every vehicle has a manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule  (check your owner's manual).  Following an appropriate schedule prevents costly repairs and increases the life and resale value of your car or truck. 

Most maintenance schedules are based on miles, assuming you drive 1,000 miles per month under "normal" conditions, which of course none of us drive.  Extreme temperatures, poor road conditions, heavy traffic, overuse and even under-use can prematurely damage parts.  The general maintenance recommendations for the Metroplex (on the right) are based on our typical weather and driving conditions.  Your specific vehicle and driving habits may call for something different.  We have the manufacturers' recommendations on all vehicles and can tailor a plan that's best for you.

Many people mistakenly believe they have to go to a dealer for maintenance if their car or truck is under warranty.  This is simply not true.  Maintenance is not covered under standard warranties.  The only exception is a few special new car incentives that include some maintenance, such as free oil changes.  In reality, the only time you need to go to the dealer is for repairs covered under their manufacturer's warranty or recalls.  In either case, the work should be free.  So, if you are paying any money for dealer service, you are probably paying too much!  For more on warranties, see our Tips.
